Hey ya'll. My name is Shelby. I am junior at the University of Illinois at Chicago studying communications and disability. My main focuses are in social media marketing and advertising. I am really interested in public relations and crisis management as well. Some projects that I have recently worked on was the creation of the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundations' Wikipedia page, as well as running the social media accounts for various UIC organizations. I am originally from a small town in Ohio, but I moved to Chicago about 4 years ago. I love Chicago and all the opportunities that it has to offer. Coming to Chicago really opened my eyes to the different pathways that a degree in communications has to offer. I have many interest so at first it was hard to me to pick a major that accommodated all of those interest, until I found communications. I love public speaking and group discussions. Presentations and speeches are my forte. I am new to this field and industry and that excites me because there is so much for me to learn. I am very eager at getting started and learning from the professionals.
