I blog because it allows me to share my interests and help connect with people who share similar interests. Blogging is also a form of self expression and a very creative venue at that. I think blogging helps me be a better person because when I read my blogs I can identify how good my writing skills are and where I am lacking. These mistakes help me become a better writer and blogger.

How does one parse the act though if you cannot be sure of an audience though? I'm always concerned about the risk of yelling to the void... I don't want to be doing something that has no possibility of success

I think there's always a chance that, when you begin, you will be shouting into the void. But as you gain experience and build your website's readership, you can actually reach an audience. But it takes an effort up front.

The idea of having to write with no idea of whether it's going to become successful makes me super nervous. I haven't started my blog for this reason. Anyone have tips for how to get over the initial fear?
